Microquasars are stellar-mass black holes in our own Galaxy that mimic,
on a smaller scale, the remarkable relavistic phenomena observed in
remote quasars. Their discovery opens new prespectives for understanding
the connection between the flow of matter into black holes and the
genesis of relativistic jets
