The variation of electron density in the midlatitude D-region is
analyzed as a function of Dst and Kp indexes. It is shown that, for
solar zenith angles ranging from 65 to 80 deg, there exists a
significant negative correlation between electron density and Dst, this
correlation becoming weaker as Kp increases.
