Statistics of gravitational lensing time delays by non-planar distribution of mass is considered in the geometric optics approximation. It is shown that, contrary to the widely held perception, fluctuations in the geometric part of the time delay cannot be ignored, while fluctuations in the Shapiro term have a sharply-peaked distribution. The results can be relevant in interpreting the pulsar timing observations and AGN variability power spectra.
