Scientific paper

The propagation of radiation in several possible shielding designs for
future large-scale dark matter search experiments has been simulated
with respect to the muon-induced background using the GEANT4 Monte Carlo
toolkit. Results indicate that it seems to be advisable to have as few
high-Z materials as possible in the vicinity of the detector.
