The purpose of these events is that the participants learn about work done in their field in the neighbouring countries and make connections with each other. The ultimate goal is to enhance the future co-operation between researches in Nordic or Baltic astronomical institutes. Each participant gave about a half and hour presentation in the meeting. These presentations are colected together in this publication. They appear in the order they were given at Seili. The reader may note the great versatility of the subjects: from very small to very large objects (molecules to galaxy clusters), from nearby targets to the farthest known in the universe (Magellanic Clouds to quasars), as well as from observational studies to theoretical ones. It seems that the Northern European institutes are involved in almost all the fields in extragalactic astronomy. In the end this many sidedness can be seen as advantegous to the future of astronomy in our countries. At the same time it emphasizes the importance of this kind of meeting, which we surely hope to be continued.
