NGC 6388 is one of two known metal-rich globular clusters which show the second parameter effect. It is the most metal-rich globular cluster known to contain Cepheids, and also contains numerous RR Lyrae stars, a surprise in so metal-rich a cluster. We propose to use the service observing capability of the 0.9-m telescope to derive periods and light curves for this cluster's unusual variable stars. These observations will test models of the second-parameter effect in metal-rich globular clusters.
