We propose to image candidate massive proplyds in the W5 H II region with Michelle on Gemini North in the N' medium band filter. Detected in our Spitzer 24(micron) survey, these large cometary objects have morphologies (at the Spitzer resolution) which more closely resemble the Orion proplyds than the broader molecular cloud remnants visible in many H II regions. If these are proplyds, they are significantly larger than those in Orion (by a factor ~50). The exceptional spatial resolution possible with Gemini will allow us to study the precise morphology of these objects, and accurately match to our shorter wavelength 8(micron) IRAC imaging. The mid-IR N' band allows us to bridge a crucial gap in these object's SEDs between the IRAC bands and our Spitzer MIPS 24(micron) data of these objects.
