Data from underground mu-meson telescopes at depths of 25, 40, and 80 mwe are analyzed in solar and sidereal time for the period 1965-1973 as a function of the interplanetary magnetic field direction. The threshold rigidities of the telescopes were 17, 30, and 52 GV. The presence of field-dependent cosmic ray streaming in and perpendicular to the ecliptic plane is confirmed by studying the behavior of the solar east-west and sidereal east-west vectors, respectively. The amplitudes of both vectors appear to be greatest during periods of maximum solar activity. If the sidereal and solar east-west streaming are attributed to radial and perpendicular density gradient streaming, then the data point to a higher radial gradient, and possibly also to a higher perpendicular gradient, at solar maximum. During the period studied, the amplitudes of both vectors do not appear to vary significantly with rigidity, to rigidities well above the 52-GV lower threshold of the Socorro telescope.
