The SUMER observations have shown that some of Si III line ratios can not be explained under assumption of the Maxwell distribution. One of non-thermal distribution very likely to occur in transition region due to its high density and temperature gradients is a ?-distribution. This kind of non-thermal distribution has an enhanced number of particles in its high energy tail in comparison with Maxwell distribution. A set of synthetic spectra for different values of parameter ? of non-distribution has been computed for Ne from 107 to 1013 cm-3 and for T from 104 to 105.2 K. The comparison of the observed and computed spectra has shown that neither ?-distribution is not able to explain all peculiarities in the Si III line ratios.
