The solar-stellar connection, the interdisciplinary research of the properties of stellar magnetic fields and their atmospheric consequences in Sun and Sun-like stars, has helped us deepen our understanding of processes as diverse as astrophysical dynamo action, starspots, large flares and prominences, coronal abundances and magnetic braking. What are the key questions for which solar physics needs to look towards the stars? What kinds of developments may we look forward to over the next decade or two in stellar research that will support understanding of the Sun's evolving activity?
