We discuss the possibility of implementing the proposal of neutrino radiative decays as an explanation for the ionisation of hydrogen throughout the universe outside H II regions, in the context of supersymmetric theories with massive neutrinos. Our analysis is carried out in the framework of spontaneously broken N = 1 supergravity models for both the cases of broken and unbroken R-parity.
