The scattering features of a polar stratospheric cloud (PSC) studied by the RADIBAL experiment are presented. At the top of the PSC, a thin layer no more than 2 km thick was composed of large, micron-sized particles which may be crystalline. Below this layer, the PSC probably consisted of spherical particles. The polarization features indicate that the size distribution of the particles narrowed from the lower to the upper levels, suggesting a preferential growth process.
