Forty-three cases of the disappearance of solar filaments were observed
in 1984-1988 during periods when geoefficient solar flares were absent
and there was no generation of coronal holes through efficient solar
longitudes. In about half the cases, small Forbush decreases were
observed on the earth several days after the filament disappearance.
