Measurements of the total ozone in the Central Asian region are presented. These measurements show that there is a systematic difference between the N(O3) values obtained in high mountains and on the plain. Total ozone content above three stations situated in mountains is found to be about 30-50 D.u. lower than above the stations in the flat area. A suggestion is made, that revealed effects are due to the vertical mean motions generated by the horizontal flux, meeting an obstacle in the form of the Central-Asian mountain region.
