The question of the association of quasars with bright galaxies is examined using recently completed surveys of quasars and quasar candidates. It is shown that the density of quasars is higher near bright galaxies than in nongalaxy control areas, at a level of from 2.0 to 4.0 standard deviations. Excess densities such as those found here emerge when magnitude-limited galaxy samples and statistically significant search areas are employed. It is unclear at what level the results are affected by the extremely nonuniform distribution of quasars found in all of the surveys analyzed.
