The present analysis of Alfven waves generated directly by the large scale departure from corotation of Jovian magnetosphere flux shells shows that a neglect of centrifugal effects in the MHD equations-of-motion is justified, in the case of transverse waves with frequency greatly exceeding that of the Jovian rotation frequency. The Coriolis force effect on the dispersion relation for such waves generates a frequency shift between left- and right-hand polarized transverse disturbances.
