An I-band image of the Swift BAT position was obtained at t=+8.08 min with the Australian National University's 2.3m telescope at Siding Spring Observatory. The position of a bright stellar object in the I-band image, but not visible on the DSS, was measured. The telescope was reconfigured from imaging to spectroscopy and set on this position. Spectra obtained with the Double-Beam spectrograph covering 320nm to 950nm started at t=+37.1min and continued until t=+93.1 min when the background from increasing twilight became noticeable, at which time a bright flux standard was observed, and observations concluded. During the interval time interval [+37.1, +93.1], when spectra were obtained, the optical light from the GRB declined by a factor of 2. In spite of this, the spectra show very little change in the slope of the continuum or in the strengths of the absorption lines. The continuum is described by a power law. The absorption spectrum includes H I, Si II, C II, Si IV, and C IV.
