We present an analysis of the soft X-ray spectrum of the Seyfert 1
galaxy Markarian 509 taken with the XMM-Newton Reflection Grating
Spectrometer. We obtain values for the ionization, outflowing velocity
and column density of three warm absorber phases along with the
identification of two narrow and two broad emission lines.
