In the present paper, Poincare's method is applied to a stability analysis of plane resonant rotations of a satellite in elliptic orbit. It is shown that resonances of the type k:2 (where k is an integer) are defined by the first approximation with respect to a small parameter, while resonances of the k:4 type are defined by the second approximation, and resonances of the k:3 and k:6 type by the third approximation. The influence of the tidal moment on the existence and stability of plane resonant spinning motions is examined.
