We have been engaged in mapping the magnetic fields of crustal origin on the Moon and Mars, and searching for crustal magnetic fields on Mercury. Our latest maps of the crustal magnetic fields of the Moon from Lunar Prospector are an improvement of previous maps because they involve the coestimation of crustal and external fields, and because they suppress poorly determined long-wavelength fields (in collaboration with J. Nicholas and T. Sabaka). We are also applying this approach (in collaboration with B. Langlais and R. Lillis) at Mars to the Mars Global Surveyor observations, and this has already led to improvements on previous maps in the northern hemisphere, where crustal magnetic fields are weak. The recent third flyby of Mercury closely repeated the track of the previous flyby, and provided the opportunity to more closely examine the observations for crustal magnetic field signatures (in collaboration with Catherine Johnson), and we will show and discuss this latest planetary magnetic field data during the course of this talk.
