The process of induced star formation is described by diffusion-reaction
like equation of flame propagation. The possibility of existence of a
steady-state star formation wave is shown and the velocity of the wave
is found. The characteristics of star formation in our Galaxy are used
to estimate this velocity: u ⪉ 8 km/s.
