The finite ion-gyroradius contributions to the ion viscosity are demonstrated to impact the motion of plasma clouds in the two dimensions transverse to the magnetic field. The viscosity reduces the relative velocity between a plasma cloud and the ambient plasma, and it also alters the direction of the cloud velocity relative to the driving force, e.g., neutral wind drag. As the formation of striations manifests the tendency of plasma clouds to elongate in the direction of an applied force, it thus appears that the ion viscosity may contribute to striation 'freezing' by altering the zero-order plasma state upon which striations evolve.
