An analysis of surface waves at the inner boundary of the plasma sheet in the magnetosphere is presented with allowance for plasma-pressure anisotropy. Plasma motion and plasma currents are determined by drifts in crossed electric and magnetic fields, the drift being of gradient type in the nonuniform magnetic field and of polarization type in the time-variable electric field. The wave impulse function is determined which represents decreasing-period pulsations propagating along the surface.
