We present some work on the role of magnetic flux ropes for the structure and dynamics of the corona in term of its magnetic helicity content and redistribution for solar eruptive and non eruptive events. We show that is possible to construct 3D MHD solutions that represents the first type of models for prominence magnetic support as highly twisted non linear force-free type configuration. We also present some results for the disruption of twisted magnetic flux rope in non eruptive and eruptive confined events.
