Radioactive beams are being used to investigate nuclear reactions that play important roles in many different astrophysical environments -- including our sun, novae, supernovae, X-ray bursters, and others. Many different techniques have been developed to determine astrophysical reaction rates. In some cases, radioactive beams have permitted the reactions of interest to be measured for the first time. Resonance properties needed to calculate reaction rates have been measured via elastic and compound nuclear scattering. Direct capture rates have been determined from Coulomb break-up and asymptotic normalization coefficient measurements. A summary of the various techniques that have been employed will be presented.
