The RAS has announced the theme for the 2010 Schools Newspaper Competition: pupils are asked to imagine the contents of the first message received from an extra-terrestrial civilization.
Fellows are reminded that minutes of RAS Council Meetings are now posted on the RAS website.
The following were elected to Fellowship of the Society on 9 October 2009:
Fellows wanting to apply for RAS grant funding are reminded that the next deadline is 15 February 2010.
