A method developed by Jefferies et al. (1972) is used to interpret photometric reductions of coronal eclipse spectra in the visible range, obtaining (1) the distribution of coronal material in terms of electron density and temperature along three lines of sight in a coronal condensation, and (2) the absolute abundance of iron and abundances relative to Fe for the five other observed elements S, Ca, Cr, Mn, and Ni. It appears that there must exist a certain amount of 'cold' material (electron temperature less than one million K) in the corona, which cannot be observed in the visible range.
