Giotto, Vega 1 and 2, Suisei, Sakigake, and ICE during the Halley flybys
are summarized and discussed, starting with the phenomena furthest away
(pick-up ions, plasma waves) and ending with the phenomena closest to
the nucleus (magnetic cavity).
