Research at the Magnetic Observatory is outlined. The Earth's magnetic environment was examined. Magnetospheric substorms and geomagnetic pulsations, which have their origins far above the Earth's surface in the magnetospheric region were reviewed. Solar quiet time (Sq) variations which originate mainly in the ionosphere and the modeling of the surface geomagnetic field and magnetotelluric were studied. A general background and specific research results obtained by Magnetic Observatory are described.
