The paper presents an analysis of the propagation of cosmic rays in random magnetic fields in the interstellar or interplanetary medium. Calculations are made of propagation across a mean field which is obtained by averaging an ensemble of large-scale fields. It is shown that long-wave fluctuations of the random field lead to an intensification of the transverse diffusion.
