Doppler measurements, using the Capri magnetograph, of the latitudinal fine structure of the solar differential rotation have been carried out. The positions of the photospheric lines C I 5380.32 and Fe I 5364.88 have been simultaneously recorded. In contrast to Gilman's model (1972) which predicted an equatorial deceleration of the differential rotation, a minimum of angular velocity is found at a latitude of 6 degrees in both hemispheres.
