Recent contributions of U.S. researchers concerning primary neutron and gamma-ray emissions associated with solar flares are summarized. Efforts to detect significant fluxes of these emissions are noted, and conclusive satellite evidence of solar gamma-rays is discussed. Theoretical models are briefly described which attempt to explain solar gamma-ray emissions at 0.5, 2.2, 4.4, and 6.1 MeV as well as neutron emission at 2.2 MeV.
