The re-emission process in the resonance cell of the GOLF (Global Oscillations at Low Frequencies) helioseismometric instrument to be flown on SOHO is analyzed. The cell is filled with a sodium vapor and absorbs selectively in the two sodium lines D1 and D2. The different influence of the physical parameters (cell geometry, temperature) was simulated. The temperature analysis is used to constrain the nominal temperature working point and the required stability, as a function of the operational conditions (orbital velocity variation).
