According to Syrovatsky, the cosmic-ray energy spectrum is obtained in the form of a power law by assuming an equipartition of source energy among the magnetic field, turbulence and high-energy particles in the cosmic-ray source. This mechanism is extended to the case where the volume of the source is changing with time. Some studies are made about a model which is suited to the mechanism: The energy distribution in the source is sharp for protons and broad for electrons. The sharp one is due to the fact that the injection in the accelerating region is dominant only in the initial stage at the supernova explosion. The secondary electrons from protons give rise to a luminosity maximum at the explosion by synchrotron mechanism.
