The geomagnetic effects of solar active centers and the seasonal variation of geomagnetic activity are examined. The periodicities of aa, Ci, and Ap indices are studied using discrete Fourier transforms. It is found that recurrent storm days do not significantly increase when the frequency of sporadic storm days increases as the active centers approach the sun-earth line.
