Two problems concerning WR + compact star binaries are addressed. The first has to do with the mass loss of WR stars by stellar wind. It is not expected that hard X-ray radiation will be observed in WR + compact systems; the question whether the column density in the WR wind is large enough to absorb all hard X rays is discussed. The second problem is considered within the framework of the general evolutionary scenario for massive close binaries. Here, the number of WR + compact star systems compared with the number of WR + OB binaries is estimated, and the binary survival probability during the SN explosion for very massive primaries is discussed. It is concluded that the number frequency of WR + compact star binaries compared with WR + OB systems may be as low as 20%.
