A heliometer operating by fast photoelectric scans of opposite limbs
simultaneously is described. It was designed for solar diameter
measurements, but it also provides data for helioseismology, since it
measures the fluctuations of the maximum brightness gradient all around
the solar limb. An example of scans is presented.
