Some observational consequences derived from Tupper's (1981) idea concerning a nonstandard representation of the matter content associated with a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) geometry are explored. The source is assumed to be a non-perfect fluid with anisotropic pressures and heat conduction. The basic equations which relate the non-perfect fluid quantities with the perfect fluid ones and the velocity are derived, and the propagation of cosmic background radiation (CBR) with FRW geometries is studied, obtaining as observable effects a diopole and a quadrupole component in the temperature of the CBR due to Doppler shift. The conditions satisfied by the velocity in order to have a flat geometry, a homogeneous velocity vector, a certain shear viscosity coefficient, and a particular heat conduction coefficient are obtained.
