On August 8, 1974, very strong H-alpha emission from U Cephei during a primary eclipse was observed. The equipment available made it possible to study the behavior of the emission line in detail. The density tracings of nine consecutive spectrograms are presented in a graph and the peak intensities of the violet and red emission lobes as functions of phase are listed in a table.
