The ionospheric current system associated with L, the lunar daily geomagnetic variation, is characterized in the sunlit hemisphere by two northern and two southern foci. An attempt is made to deduce the latitudes of these foci directly from observatory data. This is done by noting the sign and amplitude of the horizontal component of L when the focus is on the meridian.
