A recurrent plate constants method for astrometric reduction is suggested. With the availability of detailed star catalogues such as USNO A-2.0 we are able to find dozens of reference stars in a field of only 0.5 square degrees. It is possible to improve the accuracy in the astrometric observations using only a limited set of reference stars, those that give the smaller values of the residuals applying the least squares method in the plate constants astrometric reduction. Several tests are presented and the accuracy of astrometric measurements is improved.
