The primary advantages of visible solar telescopes in space are discussed: spatial resolution, geometric stability, photometric accuracy, temporal evolution, and temporal completeness. Given these scientific requirements, factors yielded through image selection, real time and post processing, and adaptive optics from the ground, are addressed. The roles of space and ground based solar telescopes are discussed.
