Results of aperture synthesis observations of two large H II regions in the Cygnus X region are presented. IC 1381 b and c were observed at a frequency at 1415 MHz with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope for four 12-hour periods, and data from the missing short baselines was derived from a single dish map. The resulting maps exhibit a variety of structural features over a large range of angular scales and flux densities, the major parts of which are the components of a single typical giant H II region. The entire region is interpreted in terms of clouds with nearly constant scale length but strongly varying electron density which are located at the edges of three bright nebular components which are in turn immersed in a denser dark cloud or clouds and excited by several OB stars located in an H II envelope beyond the nebular regions.
