The complementary aspects of solar ground based and space instrumentation are discussed and plans for future ground based solar observing facilities are reviewed. Prospects for high spatial resolution observations from the ground which are discussed are: correlation tracking, adaptive optics, and speckle interferometry. Plans for ground based solar instrumentation include polarimetry, coronagraphy, observations in infrared, helioseismology, monitoring of solar variability (synoptic studies), and telescopy.
