Supernova 1987A In Lmc, Supernovae: Light Curves, Supernovae: Stellar Atmospheres, Supernovae: Radiative Transfer
Scientific paper
In order to study the fluxes emitted by supernovae type II during the very early stages, spherical NLTE models have been used for the analysis of SN 1987A as an example. The temperature, chemical and density profiles are assumed to be given by hydrodynamic models. Both the monochromatic and the total luminosities as predicted by the atmospheric models and by the corresponding extended grey LTE atmospheres (EGL atmospheres) show large differences which sensitively depend upon the specific conditions of the photosphere, and therefore imply a strong time dependence of the frequency correction factor which has to be applied to EGL atmospheres.
