An orbiting stellar interferometer can be figured by locating three collimating telescopes at the corners of an equilateral triangle whose sides are formed by three space tethers spinning slowly around an axis in the direction of observation. The practicality of this scheme depends on the controllability of the positions and angular orientation of the telescopes. The static shape of the tether with finite mass density is presently determined under the influence of the centrifugal forces of rotation in the absence of any disturbing dynamic forces.
