The Large and Small Magellanic Cloud regions were surveyed using the atmospheric Cerenkov technique at large zenith angles. The authors find no evidence for persistent emission from SN1987A and selected X-ray pulsars in the Magellanic Clouds. Some evidence was found for a single episode of pulsed gamma ray emission from LMC X-4 on May 27, 1990. The authors obtain upper limits on the total UHE gamma ray emission emitted by these galaxies.
