The first observations of the Odin Satellite are presented. Their
implications for the Herschel satellite are mentioned. The necessity of
large teams to build these sofisticated instruments leaves room for
small teams in very specialized areas. Historical examples concerning
the Cosmic Microwave Background are reminded. .
