The K2K experiment was designed to confirm or disprove the atmospheric neutrino oscillations. Its experimental concept and detectors are described together with the full analysis of neutrino oscillations. The K2K data confirms neutrino oscillations, excluding the null oscillation hypothesis at4σ, and favours maximal mixing with Δm2∈ [1.9,3.6] × 10-3 eV2 at 90% Confidence Level.
