Gravitational perturbations during close encounters of minor bodies with the planets of the earth's group are considered as a possible mechanism of formation of short-period orbits of meteor streams. One of the versions of the known Laplace scheme of multiple application of the unperturbed two-body problem is used. It is shown that the transformation of cometary orbits into Geminid-type orbits is possible. Single encounters of the comet with earth and Venus play a dominant role in this transformation.
